Photography more than any other medium (Campany, 2008) has struggled to be defined as it continues to evolve in the digital world. Is there a need too for photographers to be redefined as they increasingly use moving image in their work? Jeff Wall and Gregory Crewdson produce cinematic still photography on a grand scale. But what of photographers’ film? The relationship between photography and cinema and installation art is nothing new, yet there are clear distinctions between photographers of still and moving image and artists who work with photography.
